From above you enjoy the magnificent view, approaching you feel its golden fine sand and its shallow, deep blue, warm waters. Gerakas is a beach of rare ecological importance and is protected by the Marine Park of Zakynthos since the Caretta Caretta turtle has chosen it to lay its eggs.

There are plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds for rent and you are not allowed to use your own as you may accidentally destroy a turtle nest. The beach is housed in a small cove and a large part of it is covered by Clay which you also cannot use for ecological reasons. Those in the know prefer Gerakas for the afternoon hours after the strong sun has gone down a bit.
